Mikhail Iosifovich Yakushin is a three-time USSR football champion as a player and six-time as a coach of Dynamo Moscow. Under his lead, the team always won prizes. The No. 1 player in pre-war Soviet football in the very first post-war 1945 made a splash when he debuted as a coach during Dynamo's UK tour. His innovative ideas were sometimes far ahead of their time, and his footballing attracted the full stadium stands. The USSR national team played its best match in history under the coaching of Yakushin. His independent, direct, clear professional and life position often ran counter to the line of his superiors.
